Walk With Me

As a ten year old, this was my prayer

Knock on my window, Lord, if you’re really up there.

It was a silly little prayer I would always repeat

The next thing I knew, I was fast asleep.

But one night when I prayed that prayer,

Three knocks on my window…was God really there?

Years went by…not a sound from Him.

When I gave my life to Jesus, then I heard Him once again.

Now some say that He doesn’t talk outright,

But I know I heard His voice that night.

Some say it’s probably in your head

But those words He spoke…it couldn’t have been.

No…I heard the voice of God one night asking me to walk with Him.

Many years have come and gone since then.

I’ve longed to hear Him once again.

Many trials and testings I’ve been through

But those words He spoke…I know He knew.

He didn’t waste one word, you see

Because every word was meant for me.

And one more word I heard him say

Walk with Me please…He said that day.

I heard the voice of God one day asking me to walk with Him.

Many years have come and gone since then

I’ve longed to hear Him once again.

But those words keep ringing in my ear

“Walk with Me, please.”  That’s all I hear.
